Melinda + Jay are getting married early August in Red Deer + Lacombe. It will be my second time shooting there this year, and I can’t wait! These two are so cute together, and Jay did a great job of keeping Melinda smiling + laughing :)

Colleen + Slav kicked off my summer wedding season with their wedding in June. It was an amazing day and the weather cooperated perfectly! I met up with the guys while they finished getting ready and then booked it over to catch the girls while they finished getting ready, and then I followed (or rather tried to keep up with) their limo over to the ceremony/reception location :)
You may remember Colleen + Slav’s engagement session with their adorable dog, Molly :) When I first met with them, I asked them what they do for a living and Colleen piped up that she is an accountant. I got really excited because Dave has been bugging me to find a real person to do our taxes, rather than waiting until the last minute and going to H&R Block lol. So, she become our accountant and is awesome if you’re in need yourself :)
Make sure to watch the slideshow at the end of this post, it has way more than I will post here.
If you’d like to book your own wedding, I do still have a few fall spots left for 2010 and am taking bookings for 2011 as well.

When I decided to take the plunge into weddings last year, Lisa + Jeremy were the very first couple to book their wedding with me (thank you!!). You may remember them from this post “-24.5”. They got married this past May at Fort Edmonton Park and I’ve never been there when it was so quiet (the park wasn’t open to the public yet). We rode around the park beforehand to do some pictures and then they had a Chinese Tea Ceremony after their wedding ceremony. They are a fun couple, who didn’t need a whole lot of direction, and I wish them all the best in their future together!
Below is a slideshow with a few more images from their day.

Kendra contacted me on the last day of my maternity promotion, and is due with her first baby pretty soon! I’m so impressed too. 3 out of 4 of my recent maternity session do/did not know what they are/were having ahead of time. I admire the restraint, I definitely had none when I was pregnant with both of my kids.
I met up with Kendra + Rob on a sunny Sunday morning for their session and Kendra wanted to hit up the park near her house, so we spent our time at the Laurier Heights Park. The best part about early morning Sunday sessions … no other people! I think we had the whole place to ourselves until about 5 minutes before we were done.

Sanja + Nenad are getting married next month, so we went downtown for some engagement photos. Nenad knew some pretty great spots, so I was pretty excited to add a few more gems to my location list :) I love it when couples forget that I’m there and just be goofy with each other, which these two did so great at. We walked up to Churchill Square as well for a couple of fountain shots.
This next two are a couple of my fave’s.

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. When two beautiful people make whoopie, this is what happens. Pure gorgeousness. Excuse me while I visit google and check whether that is even a word.
Jenny & I have been friends for about 6 years and I can’t even talk about her without busting out my inner smartass, we just have that kind of friendship. We used to work together and she makes the very BEST roommate ever (okay, I only have one experience to go by and it was 2 nights at a work function, but anyone who wakes me up with coffee is a hero in my books). Fun fact: She called me every morning for 3 weeks before I had my son to see if I had gone into labour yet, and I was so excited when I got to do the same to her because any mom-to-be knows, the most annoying thing ever is when someone asks you all the time if you’ve had the baby yet :) I do have lots of other stories, but you came to see pictures, not read a novel.
After one delay due to our crazy Alberta weather, we finally met up for their family session. Little Master “P” (ooh, nickname!!) was at the fun age where he wasn’t fully mobile yet, so this was a great time to get him out for a session, and I am so happy that she invited me to hang out with them. We even snuck in some mom + dad pictures at the end before P decided that we were done.
This one and the first one at the top of this post are my favourites of P. One of them may or may not be going up on the wall in my studio ;)
P made sure that we worked hard for his smiles
<3 This is their fav family shot, and it’s definitely mine too. I can’t wait to see it on their wall :)
Someone should tell them they aren’t very photogenic … yeah right.

One of the reasons that I ran my maternity promotion was because for some awesome reason, I was coming up on page 1 of Google’s search for “Edmonton Maternity Photographers”. While that was great for traffic to my website, it wasn’t so great that I had only done one maternity session prior to my promotion, leaving moms-to-be not much to look at on my portfolio.
Lisa was the first person to book a session with me under the promotion. Her & Joe met up with me on a beautiful evening for their session. She has since had her baby girl (her gut feeling was right), and I am so excited for them both!

Barbara + Kelly have graced my blog before. I did a fun family session with them last fall, and now it’s time for baby #2. We headed out storm watching, I mean we headed out for their maternity/family session a few weeks ago and managed to miss the rain, although you can see in the skies that it was coming.
Little miss A is growing up and is excited to be a big sister! She had lots of fun making faces and doing “tricks” for the camera.
I can’t wait to meet the new member of your family!!

Not too long ago, I ran a portfolio building promotion to gain some more experience in maternity photography and add to my portfolio. I received a few bookings (watch for those pictures to come soon), and Jenn was the first. She has since had her baby (a boy), so I’m glad we got to get out for the session before he made his arrival!

I got asked to cover a wonderful event, benefitting the Stollery Children’s Hospital. It was a fun evening offering all the ladies who attended, makeovers (complete with eyelash application), mini manicures, silent auction, swag bags, shopping, food, drinks, entertainment, a red carpet (complete with sponsor wall for pictures) & a raffle for an $8000 Rolex watch. I was one of three photographers who were there, and I was in charge of wandering the floor, capturing the candid moments.
There are a ton of photos, so many that I will spare you scrolling through all of them. If you’d like to see more, click on the slideshow at the end of this post.
Live mannequins modeling some fashion up in the silent auction (there were several models)
The Rolex watches up for grab in the Raffle (it was a choice between mens or ladies)
The SUPER excited winner of the above watch!
And, as promised, the full slideshow. If it stops part way through (showing my logo), it’s just loading more.
